Old Horse Jumps, Centennial Park

A short post today of yet another piece of history you can find in Centennial Park. I have to call out that this story comes almost entirely from the Centennial Park blog.

If you enjoy this post you may like to visit their blog for more stories like this. Their blog can be found by clicking here.

While not the most beautiful item in the park, this is one of several square brick structures located near the Moore Park entrance to the park. At first glance you may not think they’d have any significance at all, but these are in fact equestrian jumps that are left over from cross country equestrian events held in the park as a part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show when it was held at Moore Park.

These jumps are said to have been from the 1964 version of the event.

Note: I try to be as accurate as possible but make no guarantees. Please use this information at your own risk.
